Exhibition

The club I attend each Monday, is having its annual exhibition on Tuesday 5th June and this is the shortlist of paintings I'll be submitting.

Perhaps more , perhaps less. so if you fancy having a closer look at these and over a 100 other paintings that are for sale come down to Monk Fryston Hall, between 11am and 4pm.

I can guarantee that you will be impressed by the mass of paintings and the entertainment the Hall is putting on for the Queen's jublilee.

Two sketches

The landscapey one was done whilst out walking in an unusual but welcome bit of sunshine we had here today.
Unusual because we are having a poor summer here in the UK so far this year
Took about 15 mins and I got a couple of laughs from some farmworkers whose path I was stood on.



 The flower one is a copy from a painting by Carol Marine.

Pebbles ! They exclaimed

I got these four pebbles and many others on a holiday in Florida in 2007 and they have remained in a drawer ever since until I saw the work of a Brenda Ferguson.
Inspired, I had a root through them until I found these four. Perhaps the left hand two on their own would be a better painting ?

Total admirer of this guys work , found him on a trawl through the internet one night.

This is my appreciation piece of one of his and he does it so much better , check him out.

This is very much unfinished for now , indeed I have a more finished piece in my easel now but as it's quite late and therefore quite dark I can't get a decent photo of it.

Bob Marley , even more finished and framed

I have framed this up in an old frame I had and whilst I was looking at it thinking whether it looked ok or not a Bob Marley song suddenly aired on the radio.
BBC Radio 2 at that so it's not like I was listening to some Reggae themed station.
Think it was a message from Bob himself !

Ok ok it was a coincidence but a true story all the same.

I'm annoyed that as I write this I forget which song it was , I will have to download the podcast after the show and listen again.
