Study , African woman after Ellen Cooper

This "similar" ( I say that in the loosest sense of the word)  painting appeared in the June July edition of International Arist magazine and is by Ellen Cooper, a wonderful oil painter.

My version here is in pastels and is not quite finished at this stage.

All My Animals, real and not so....

Just thought I would put up all my animals in one place. dogs, cuddly toys (they're real right) horses, donkeys, rabbits and a cat.

Horse Rider after Simon Lavigne

I saw this in the June / July 2011 edition of International Artist in an article about painter Simon Lavigne. The horse is part of a larger painting titled , "On The Way Home" and was shown as a detail in the article.
I thought it looked good on its own so have pTinted it here in acrylics.
It measures 12"x10"

sun salutations and flip flops

Just been away for a week on holiday in Fuerteventura and although I took all my sketching stuff and promised myself I would do loads , I only managed to get these done. My favourite are the simple flip flops which I would like to make up to a full painting. I hope I do.

Think I messed this up a bit with adding colour but hey there you go, it's all experimentation.

Best comment of the day at the art club today whilst I was doing this.
One of the members came up and said, "Oh Karl thats lovely, Bruce Forsyth isn't it ?"

It raised a giggle, and she quicky realised her mistake.
