Early stages yet but date I say looking ok. I've done some real stinkers recently , luckily in oil so it's easy enough to wipe out and start again.

He says he is happy to have anyone use his photos to paint draw etc and even sell on as long as he gets a mention.

Two paintings , one done five years ago, my first ever portrait and one done today. Today's isn't finished and I do hope you know which is which ! Ha 

A Twiggy Tree after Bob Kimball.

An artist whose style I like is Bob Kimball who I understand is relatively unknown. I may be wrong but I know he sells very well on the Daily Paintworks site. I bought a painting of his called Twiggy tree and some time ago I painted my version of it.

However I gave that away to a friend so have done another. 

Very different from my usual portraits and figurative stuff but I like it. Simples ! 

Progress on "Minutes silence"

Just a progress shot of my police painting. If you didn't see my earlier post. I found this photo on the North a Yorks a Police website and got permission from the photographer and the police officer to paint it. 

Two puddle jumpers

My email,blog,artist , mentor pal in Canada Patrick La a Montagne (did I make that introduction clear enough) expressed a desire to have my little coloured pencil sketch of the puddle jumper thT I did some time ago.

However when I dug it out to post it, I found  it had a small oil spot stain on the upper left hand corner. So I've done another version and turned the oil spot into a hanging spider. 

I think it works ! What do you think.
