Johnny Depp

Been working on this for some time and it's now cracking me up ! Loads left to do on it.

Wish I could, just start again but I won't , probably leave it for now and come back later. It says in many an artist book not to point out the mistakes, so I won't but there are some !

At least it improved as it went along , especially this strange start, Look at those eyes !

Don't even ask me about the two things below his chin.

Johnny Mitchell from Educating Yorkshire

Heres a portrait of star of the c4 programme head teacher Mr Mitchell. It is  an acrylic and only measures 7x5 so I was happy to get some kind of likeness despite it being a close up of just the eyes. It might not be the best likeness but it's a likeness especially  after I've told you who it is ! Ha

You haven't faced fear until you have told a sixteen year old stroppy girl that she isn't going to the prom , now that's fear !

Mick Jagger

Got a bit more to do on this , tighten things up I think or might just leave it loose, not sure ?

Either way I enjoyed doing it. I've been playing with oils but this is acrylic which I find much easier to use whilst I learn more about oils.

Morgan Freeman

Back to my favourite subject and my favourite subject !

I love portraiture and Morgan Freeman just screams out to be painted , drawn , sketched etc.

I have mad him my target on more than a few occasions, he just appeals to me for some reason.

This is a willow charcoal sketch A3 size that's just about 16 x 12 inches

The Penny Floater

When I was a kid the only football the local shop sold and the only one we could afford was what we affectionately called the penny floater. This was a cheap thin oversized football that a good strong wind would play havoc with. They came in two colours white or red. If you were really posh you could just the one with the proper football markings. You also had to keep out of the way of anyone smoking as a wayward cigarette would see you holding a flat piece of plastic that once resembled a football. As did the smallest thorn. Ah those were the days !

This is an oil painting measuring 12x10 " and is for sale on the Daily  Paintworks site to the right of this post.

These have been photographed in all kinds of silly lighting so none of them look the same.

Oil painting measures 7x5" inspired by a YouTube video tutorial by Jos Van Riswick  who I think is a Dutch artist. His youtube videos are under the name josvanr
